BREAKING: Vikings Receive Devastating News For $115 Million QB Signing
The Minnesota Vikings’ negotiating position with Kirk Cousins was severely diminished on Sunday afternoon when significant news broke out of Tampa Bay. The Vikings plan to allow Cousins to begin negotiations with teams during the legal tampering period of free agency at Noon on Monday, should they be unable to come to an agreement earlier.
The Minnesota Vikings wanted Baker Mayfield in free agency
Over the past couple weeks, Zach Wilson, Trey Lance, and Justin Fields have expressed interest in the Vikings in trades. If Mayfield and the Bucs couldn’t come to an agreement, the Vikings expressed interest in signing him this week, according to Dianna Russini of The Athletic.
Regarding the Vikings’ interest in Mayfield, conflicting reports have been made. The Atlanta Falcons and New England Patriots, though, did. The Falcons are interested in Cousins, so having Mayfield available might help Minnesota keep Cousins for the 2024 campaign.
The Tampa Bay Buccaneers signed Baker Mayfield
The Buccaneers signed Baker Mayfield to a three-year contract worth $100 million, with $50 million of that amount guaranteed, according to Ian Rapoport of the NFL Network.
The Demand for Kirk Cousins just went up
There will be one fewer quarterback available for the Falcons to target on the free-agency market. The news of Mayfield’s signing has significantly increased desire for Cousins.
Is there a way for the Vikings to retain their relatives in Minnesota? Or would two New York Jets busts find up competing for the team’s starting slot during training camp?
