Breaking: Panthers Agree Deal To Sign $12.14 Million Super Bowl Champion

According to Ian Rapoport of the NFL Network, the Carolina Panthers have signed former Los Angeles Rams safety Jordan Fuller, adding a significant piece to their defensive backfield.

After being selected in the first round out of Ohio State, Fuller is starting his sixth season in the NFL.

As a two-time captain of the Rams, he has solidified his position as one of the league’s best experienced safety presences. In the 2023 campaign, he recorded 84 tackles, eight passes defensed, and three interceptions.

The former Rams standout should provide the secondary support the Panthers were hoping for.

Fuller has the potential to be a tackling machine at his best. He just needs to continue being well. After being placed on the injured reserve, Fuller only participated in three games in the 2022 season.

Fuller has recorded 256 tackles, 17 passes defended, and seven interceptions in his first four seasons in the NFL. With the Rams, he took home a Super Bowl LVI ring.

Panthers to sign former Jaguars first-rounder

According to NFL source Ian Rapoport, the Carolina Panthers are allegedly signing former first-round pick K’Lavon Chaisson to a one-year contract in free agency. When the Jaguars decided not to pick up Chaisson’s fifth-year option, his rookie contract came to an end on Wednesday. Chaisson plays outside linebacker. Under new head coach Dave Canales, the former LSU standout will now join the Panthers in the inaugural season.

With a lot of anticipation around him, the former LSU Tiger joined Jacksonville with the No. 20 overall choice in the 2020 NFL Draft. But success hasn’t always been assured. He has accumulated 73 tackles in 57 games during his first four seasons, along with five sacks and 9.5 tackles for loss.

The maximum payment under his new one-year contract with the Panthers is $5 million. He would have made $12.14 million if the Jaguars had accepted his fifth-year option.
