Report: Wildcats announce new signing

Boogie Fland, a 5-star combo guard from White Plains (N.Y.) Archbishop Stepinac 247Sports Composite, has been selected New York High School Basketball Player of the Year by MaxPreps on Wednesday.

Fland averaged 19.2 points, 6.5 rebounds, 3.6 assists, and 2.4 steals per game as a senior this season, shooting 46% from the field, 36% from 3-point range, and 83% from the free throw line to help lead the Crusaders to a 26-4 record, the CHSAA Class AA city championship, and the inaugural PSAL vs. CHSAA AA title. In a 60-53 win against Christ the King in the opening round of the CHSAA Class AA tournament

Fland, who was selected for the McDonald’s All-American Game and the Nike Hoop Summit, concluded his high school career with 1,418 points.

The 6-foot-2, 170-pound guard, rated 18th overall in the 2024 class by the industry average 247Sports Composite, also helped Team USA win gold in the 2022 FIBA U17 World Cup, averaging 4.7 points, 3.6 assists, and 2.7 rebounds per game.

Overtime Elite 5-star wing Karter Knox (No. 19), Camden (N.J.) 5-star wing Billy Richmond (No. 24), Atlanta (Ga.) Overtime Elite 4-star center Somto Cyril (No. 41), and Lyon County 4-star combo guard Travis Perry (No. 81) from Eddyville, Kentucky.
