Breaking: Ravens Are Closing In On Deal To Sign $13.5 Million WR And Return Specialist
The Ravens are visiting with Deonte Harty, a wide receiver and return specialist.
The Baltimore Ravens have already hosted free agency wide outs on visits this offseason. In March, Michael Gallup and Josh Reynolds visited the team before the latter inked a contract with the Denver Broncos.
According to Jeff Zrebiec of The Athletic, wide receiver Deonte Harty could join that list when he visits the Ravens on Friday.
Harty, 26, is a Baltimore native. He went to Archbishop Curley High School before playing college football at Assumption University, when he broke an NCAA all-division record with 14 combined punt and kick return touchdowns.
He signed as an undrafted free agent with the New Orleans Saints in 2019 and spent four seasons there until joining the Buffalo Bills in 2023. Harty’s most prolific season as a receiver was in 2021, when he caught 36 catches for 570 yards and three scores. His career stats include 79 receptions for 943 yards and five touchdowns.
The 5-foot-6 wideout has mostly earned his name on special teams as a return specialist, much as he did in college. Harty scored a 53-yard punt return touchdown for the Saints in his rookie season and a 96-yard return touchdown with the Bills last season. He also has a lifetime average of 25.2 yards per kickoff return.
For the Ravens, Harty could add another speed threat to the wide receiver room and help offset the loss of Devin Duvernay, who signed with the Jacksonville Jaguars last month. Duvernay was selected to two Pro Bowls and named first-team All-Pro as a return man during his four seasons with the Ravens.
