Report: Two Iowa players have finally agree to leave

Four Iowa Hawkeyes were selected in ESPN’s seven-round 2024 NFL mock draft.

With the 2024 NFL draft less than a month away, the Iowa Hawkeyes are preparing for another round of continuing their path to the professionals. This year’s crop of talent might see four Hawkeyes selected in the NFL draft.
Iowa, led by Cooper DeJean, a possible first-round draft choice, is also touting defensive lineman Logan Lee, tight end Erick All, and America’s favorite punter, Tory Taylor, as potential NFL draft prospects. Each of them flashed while wearing Iowa’s black and yellow, and they will soon be on their way to new homes.

As the draft approaches, ESPN released its seven-round 2024 NFL mock draft. Check out where.

Cooper DeJean, CB

Selection: No. 23 overall (Round 1) to the New England Patriots.

There are no surprises here, as DeJean has often been ranked in the first round in mock selections. The New England Patriots make this transaction to get a player that perfectly matches their philosophy.

The Patriots are constantly trying to recruit versatile players, particularly those who can assist on special teams. DeJean ticks every box.

23. New England Patiors (via CLE/HOU and a faux trade with MIN).

After acquiring Olumuyiwa Fashanu with the first of two first-round picks in the fake transaction, the Patriots now have a versatile defensive back who was a bonafide playmaker in college. DeJean has seven interceptions in the last two seasons, returning three for touchdowns.

Logan Lee, DL

The Kansas City Chiefs selected No. 173 overall (Round 5).

What an ideal landing site for Logan Lee. The Chiefs are the pinnacle of an organization, and they keep him relatively near to home, where many Iowa fans can see him. Lee would join the Chiefs in a depth role and have the opportunity to learn from successful veterans.
