NFL Breaking: Commanders Pull Off Deal To Sign $88 Million Star QB In Blockbuster Trade

Rumors are simply that until confirmed, but the one swirling the Washington Commanders and quarterback Jayden Daniels is more than just speculation.

The Washington Commanders will select a quarterback in the first round of the NFL Draft on Thursday night, sparking a heated debate.

Until then, speculations of quarterback Jayden Daniels as the favorite candidate of the Commanders will continue to be discredited by critics, while there appears to be no real traction from insiders or reporters that North Carolina’s Drake Maye could be the pick.

Essentially, outside of the classic, ‘nobody knows anything,’ excuse there doesn’t seem to be any real smoke around Washington targeting Maye at No. 2 over Daniels. Yet, the fact remains that until Daniels is wearing a Commanders hat and holding up a jersey on draft day the outcome could differ from the rumor.

According to Ari Meirov of 33rd Team, the Washington Commanders’ coaching staff has decided on Jayden Daniels as their No. 2 overall pick in the NFL Draft. “Unlike Chicago, which only brought in (USC quarterback) Caleb Williams for a top-30 visit, Washington has conducted extensive evaluations on all of the quarterbacks and has included various voices in the decision-making process.”

“This includes a number of owners as well as former NBA executive Bob Myers. Daniels is still thought to be the most likely candidate.

While it falls short of confirmation, the fact that insiders like as ESPN’s Adam Schefter and The Athletic’s Dane Brugler have began to discuss Daniels tends to increase the likelihood that it will happen.

Other indicators include popular Washington punter Tress Way’s No. 5 shirt, which recently went on sale in online product sites. Daniels wore the No. 5 at LSU and Arizona State before that, and he is a big fan of former Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Donovan McNabb, who also spent time in the DMV before retiring from football.

Again, none of it points to a sure thing, and the odds makers are doing everything in their power to keep things interesting as well, but if there’s one rumor outside of Williams to the Bears that is gaining more and more traction it’s that Daniels will be the man leading the Commanders onto the field for the foreseeable future.
