Saints agree to terms with OT. Justin Herron, OG Shane Lemieux
According to Matthew Paras of nola.com, the Saints reached an agreement with offensive lineman Shane Lemieux and offensive tackle Justin Herron on Monday.
They join draft picks Taliese Fuaga of Oregon State and Josiah Ezirim of Eastern Kentucky as new additions to the Saints’ offensive line as they rebuild. James Hurst retired, Andrus Peat remains a free agent, and Ryan Ramczyk’s future is uncertain due to a knee injury.
Lemieux and Herron have combined for 43 games played and 23 starts.
Lemieux was placed on injured reserve at the end of last season after ripping a biceps during practice in October. In 2023, he played four games and made one start.
The Giants selected him in the fifth round of the 2020 draft.
In his career, Lemieux has featured in 18 games, starting 12 of them. Nine of his starts came in his debut season. He concluded 2021 with a torn patella, and his 2022 season was cut short due to a toe injury.
Herron, a sixth-round pick by the Patriots in 2020, started six of twelve games as a rookie. He missed four games due to an ankle ailment.
In 2022, the Patriots moved him to the Raiders, and he suffered a ruptured ACL, ending his season early. Last season, he suffered a concussion and played only 16 offensive snaps before being waived by the Raiders in December.
