Breaking: Ravens Closing In On Deal To $19.3 Million Two-Time All-Pro Safety In Free Agency
In free agency, the Baltimore Ravens may sign another elite player to bolster their roster.
Although the Baltimore Ravens have strengthened their roster through the draft and free agency, there are still a few veterans that are worth considering that will require a place to play in 2024.
Among them is Micah Hyde, a former safety for the Buffalo Bills who spent two seasons in western New York and was selected to the second team of the All-Pro team.
If the 33-year-old were to join with a new team this summer, CBS Sports thinks the Ravens are the greatest option for him.
The Ravens may need more depth at the position with Geno Stone departing, as they didn’t choose a safety until selection No. 250 in this year’s draft. Although they have Kyle Hamilton and Marcus Williams back there, Baltimore has previously used three safety sets, according to CBS Sports.
“If Williams or Hamilton are injured, this is more of a luxury for Baltimore than a necessity. Despite his deteriorating covering abilities, Hyde is an inherently strong defensive end player and leader. He would make a useful addition.”
Hyde played 14 games for the Bills last season, recording 54 tackles and two interceptions, proving he can still be a key piece for a secondary. He likely wouldn’t start for the Ravens, but if he was prioritizing competing for a championship over playing time, Baltimore could be an option for the 11-year veteran.
