During his time, Buffalo consistently fielded arguably of the strongest secondaries and overall defenses in the league.
Any seasoned player will suffer from injuries, and Baltimore and other clubs should take note of the fact that Hyde has missed 18 games in the past two seasons. If the Ravens invest in him, will he still have the range that made him such a potent player?
The fact that Williams and Hamilton can assist Baltimore prevent Hyde from regressing is one of the reasons they should feel at ease about taking this risk. Last year, when the ball was in the air, Hyde showed himself to be fairly productive, albeit in a limited state.
Even though the Ravens don’t have a lot of money to spend on free agents, it wouldn’t be a bad idea to recognize Hyde as a player who can still have an impact and give him a key position in what is perhaps the finest defense in the league.
