Breaking: Kentucky Wildcats agree deal to sign 5 star player

Kentucky is a contender for 4-star recruit Shelton Henderson, according to Alvin Brooks.
Henderson and Brooks have been in contact nonstop.
While Mark Pope and the Kentucky Wildcats continue to work on the team for the upcoming season, they are now beginning to give the class of 2025 more attention.

Alvin Brooks, the assistant coach at Kentucky, has been putting a lot of effort into luring Houston native Shelton Henderson, a 4-star prospect.

The 6-foot-6 wing in the class of 2025 has been in contact with Brooks, a former assistant at Baylor.

Henderson spoke with Kentucky Sports Radio on his friendship with Brooks.

I speak with him often. He visited my school, we had a nice one-on-one talk, and he shared his impressions of me as well as how I can support the program he is in. He recently gave me an introduction to (Kentucky) and the projects they are working on there. It’s been incredibly enjoyable for me.

With his 6-foot-6 height and 200+ pounds, Henderson has a lot of tools at his disposal. With his strength and length, he can reach the rim fast.

Coach Pope and Brooks have lately traveled to the AAU circuit to watch Henderson and other athletes in person.

Henderson is also attracting interest from Louisville, Houston, Texas, LSU, and other places.

In response to a question from KSR regarding his recruiting, Henderson said, “I haven’t really cut down any schools yet.” However, I believe that after Peach Jam, I’ll start to truly cut down relatively soon.

Pope has yet another way to strengthen the team he is assembling for the 2024–25 collegiate basketball campaign.
