Breaking: Dundee United closing in on deal to sign €250k star as Jim Goodwin targets another gem

The Tannadice manager signed Miovski for Dons and has been connected to Kristijan Trapanovski.

Dundee United are apparently looking to sign Macedonian striker Kristijan Trapanovski, dubbed the next Bojan Miovski.

Miovski joined Tangerines from Aberdeen for £350,000 two years ago and has since become a Scottish Premiership sensation, netting 44 goals in 90 games. Miovski has been linked with a record transfer away from Pittodrie this summer, and Goodwin has looked in the same market for Shkupi star Trapanovski.

According to reports from Macedonia, United is getting close to signing the 24-year-old, a former member of his nation’s Under 21 international team. He can play as a striker or winger, and in 23 games for the Skopje club in his native league, he has contributed six assists and six goals. Due to his expiring contract, Trapanovski would be available to Dundee United for no cost.

He’s previously had loan stints at Tatran Presov and Slovakian club Viktoria Zizkov in addition to stints overseas with Slavia Prague. For the upcoming Premiership season, United will be trying to bolster their roster, and Goodwin may welcome another Macedonian attacker to Scotland..
