Breaking: Kilmarnock are facing a battle to sign 23-year-old Scotland international

Derek McInnes is keen to lure the Cherries stopper back north of the border for a second loan spell.

Kilmarnock are battling to re-sign Will Dennis for next season.

Killie manager Derek McInnes wants to sign the stopper from Bournemouth for a second loan term. But the Cherries want Dennis to be a part of their goalkeeping team. The Premier League club released former Motherwell goalie Darren Randolph, but Dennis remains an important part of their ambitions.

McInnes, the head coach at Rugby Park, has completed the most of his duties early. He has been connected with a loan to Ipswich Town and Scotland Under-21 cap Cieran Slicker, as well as rival Hibs. McInnes is also considering numerous goalkeeping possibilities if Bournemouth does not play ball over Dennis. The aim is that the possibility of European football will be a significant pull at Rugby Park, as Killie finished fourth in the Scottish Premiership and qualified for the Europa League for the first time since Steve Clarke led them to third place in 2019.
