Red Wings Trade Proposal Brings Ducks’ Trevor Zegras To Detroit
According to an observer, the Detroit Red Wings might be a serious contender for unhappy Anaheim Ducks forward Trevor Zegras in a “realistic trade idea.”
Max Bultman of The Athletic revealed his proposal while answering reader questions on a June 19 mailbag. The initial question, posed by Hunter G., requested Bultman for “one realistic trade you would make in a heartbeat.”
“We may debate what is practical, but one trade suggestion I’ve considered is trading the 15th selection for a defense prospect (William Wallinder?). Bultman said, “Albert Johansson?) to Anaheim for Trevor Zegras.”

Zegras, 23, has 154 points from 211 NHL games in four seasons (55 goals, 99 assists). The forward was limited to 31 games in 2024 (ankle ailment) and scored 15 points. However, he has had two NHL seasons with 60 or more points.
“Yes, he has certain shortcomings in his game,” Bultman observed, “but some players’ offensive production can compensate for deficiencies. Zegras clears the bar.”
