West Brom are apparently interested in recruiting an international striker with over 100 career goals, as Carlos Corberan considers several key summer transfers.

The Baggies are currently on track for a Championship playoff finish, thanks to Corberan’s outstanding performance in the Hawthorns hot seat. They cannot afford to rest on their laurels, considering the quality of competition around them, and new acquisitions this month may strengthen them even further.

West Brom have been connected with a number of youngsters in recent weeks, notably Liverpool teenager Fabio Carvalho, who has now joined Hull City. Kieffer Moore, a Bournemouth and Wales striker, has also emerged as a reported target for the Championship club, having fallen out of favour with the Cherries recently, exacerbated by Dominic Solanke’s great play.

Wolves defender Dexter Lembikisa is another youngster who might join the Baggies on loan to continue his development and get more regular playing time away from the Premier League.

 

Goals are valuable in football, which is why West Brom may be looking for a new striker this month, and an international target is viewed as a possibility to come in and bolster the offensive options that Corberan presently has available.

According to writer Yagiz Sabuncuoglu on X, West Brom are interested in acquiring Fenerbahce striker Umut Nayir, but will face competition from Cardiff City.

Nayir may not be a well-known player among English football fans right now, but he might be an eye-catching addition for West Brom in the January transfer window. The 30-year-old has played only 49 minutes across five league games for Fenerbahce this season, but the Baggies might be a fantastic fresh start for him.

Nayir has not only scored once in four caps for Turkey, but he also has 118 goals in his club career, demonstrating his scoring prowess. He may not be getting any younger, but he has a plethora of experience with major Turkish clubs such as Besiktas, so he shouldn’t be
