Breaking news: West brom in advance talk to complete deal for highly rated star

West Brom prepared for negotiations with Europa League club about trade agreement.
West Brom are reportedly prepared to speak with Turkish club Besiktas about a potential transfer for star midfielder Okay Yokuslu.

That is according to Turkish journalist Sercan Dikme, who claims that the Baggies may lose one of their key players this summer as he approaches the end of his contract.

Trabzonspor reportedly expressed interest in the Turkish enforcer this summer, and Besiktas has now joined them as the two Turkish Super Lig sides prepare to compete for the center midfielder.

The 30-year-old played 44 games for Albion in 2023-24, helping his team reach the Championship play-offs before falling to eventual winners Southampton in the semi-finals.

Yokuslu has been reproducing his imperious Baggies form on the international scene this summer, appearing twice for his country in their journey to the Euro 2024 quarterfinals.

West Bromwich Albion poised for Besiktas negotiations about Okay Yokuslu’s transfer
Yokuslu has been a force to be reckoned with in West Brom’s midfield since permanently arriving from La Liga side Celta Viga in 2022, with his dominant displays assisting his team in regularly taking control of games.

With 82 league games for the club under his belt, the central midfielder has cemented his place in the middle of the park, with manager Carlos Corberan relying heavily on his presence in the midfield fight.

Yokuslu’s current tenure at The Hawthorns is his second with the club, following an impressive loan spell in the Black Country during the 2020/21 season, in which he appeared 16 times for the Baggies.

The Turk has left his imprint on the club in each of his stints, with no other player making more tackles than the 66 he made the previous season.

The Turk has only one year left on his contract with the club and might return to his homeland this summer, having last played for Trabzonspor in 2018.

As he reaches the final year of his current contract, West Brom may be eager to cash in on their midfield maestro while they still can, with the two clubs’ executives poised to discuss a deal in the coming days.
