The Cleveland Browns and kicker Dustin Hopkins have reached a three-year contract agreement for $15.9 million, according to an Associated Press source.
According to a source familiar with the negotiations who spoke with The Associated Press on Monday night, kicker Dustin Hopkins has agreed to a new contract with the Cleveland Browns.
Hopkins played an important role for Cleveland last season after being acquired from the Los Angeles Chargers. The agreement will keep him with the Browns until the 2027 season, though the contract has yet to be signed, according to the unidentified source.
ESPN.com was the first to publish the agreement, noting that Hopkins will now be one of the NFL’s highest-paid kickers.
Last season, Hopkins, 33, completed 33 of 36 field goals and 24 of 26 extra points for the Browns, who acquired him for a seventh-round pick in 2025.
Hopkins, however, missed the playoffs after suffering a significant hamstring injury while attempting to stop a returner against Houston in Week 16.
He excelled at long-range kicks, going an impressive 8 for 8 on tries from 50 yards or more.
Hopkins played seven seasons at Washington before joining the Chargers in 2021. Throughout his career, he has made 223 of 260 field goal tries, for an 85.8% success percentage.
The Browns chased Hopkins after having troubles with kicker Cade York during the preseason. York, originally picked by Cleveland in the fourth round of 2022, returned
