Report: Kansas City Chiefs deal to sign WR to Help Patrick Mahomes in a blockbuster trade

Kansas City Chiefs Urged to Trade for 3,700-Yard WR to Help Patrick Mahomes and Travis Kelce.
The Kansas City Chiefs offense could look drastically different this season, but the reigning champions also have the possibility to add one more game-changing weapon to Patrick Mahomes’ inventory before the 2024 season begins.

As the Chiefs prepare for a historic third consecutive Super Bowl championship, rookie receiver Xavier Worthy appears to be the deep threat that Mahomes has been missing since Tyreek Hill was traded to the Miami Dolphins in 2022, and Marquise “Hollywood” Brown has the potential to be a significant veteran upgrade to a receiving corps that led the league in dropped passes in 2023.

However, when the Cincinnati Bengals and Tee Higgins failed to reach an agreement on a long-term contract, and the top receiver is expected to play out the season on the franchise tag, Chiefs general manager Brett Veach has the potential to make a significant upgrade to the offense before the season begins.
Could Kansas City Chiefs Trade for Tee Higgins?
Veach and the Chiefs are interested on assuring that Mahomes enters the season with viable receivers who can make consistent plays.
Adding Higgins would significantly improve the Chiefs’ offense.

That is exactly the move Pro Football Focus’ Thomas Valentine believes Kansas City should make this summer.

“The Chiefs have long been in the hypothetical market for a receiver despite signing Marquise Brown to a one-year deal in free agency,” Valentine writes on behalf of PFF. “The Bengals may not be pleased with the prospect of trading Tee Higgins to a Super Bowl-contending rival, especially if those rivals are the reigning champions, but Higgins does not appear to be in line for a long-term contract. Instead of letting him depart, the Bengals could consider trading him for future selection picks.

“The Chiefs should put themselves in the running. Travis Kelce might not have many years left in the tank, and Higgins would provide Mahomes with a legitimate X receiver.
