Espn: top AL Cy Young candidate choose to join Orioles over Yankees in a blockbuster trade that is sure to get the fanbase excited

The Baltimore Orioles may be the frontrunners in trading for the top AL Cy Young candidate.
The Baltimore Orioles are on pace to win 100 games. They did win 101 games last season, but it didn’t translate into postseason success. So, while they may be comfortably on track to make the playoffs heading into MLB games today, there’s no assurance they’ll be any better off this season.

The Orioles could improve their prospects of playing deep into October by upgrading their squad before the MLB trade deadline on July 30. Baltimore supporters have already witnessed the New York Yankees make a huge move by trading for Jazz Chisholm Jr. The Orioles have also made a move, but adding Seranthony Dominguez and Cristian Pache pales in comparison to the impact Chisholm is anticipated to have in New York.

However, the Orioles could be on the verge of making a blockbuster transaction that will pique the fanbase’s interest in their chances of winning the World Series.

The Baltimore Orioles are looking to trade Tarik Skubal.
According to Jon Morosi of MLB Network, the Detroit Tigers and Baltimore Orioles are now considering a deal involving Tarik Skubal. However, a trade agreement was not finalized as of Monday morning. However, with fewer than 48 hours till the trade deadline, time is running out for both teams.

As Morosi said, Baltimore’s Kyle Stowers could be involved in trade talks. The 26-year-old is behind other outfielders in Baltimore, but he has hit well when given the opportunity.

He would become an everyday player in Detroit, but the Orioles would also need to add other prospects that Detroit is interested in. However, with Baltimore having the finest farm system in baseball, this should not be a major hurdle.

Nonetheless, Morosi believes that a Skubal deal is “much more likely” than Chicago’s Garrett Crochet being traded. With the Orioles looking for a frontline starter, it’s possible they’ll go to any length to get Skubal. They’ve probably already explored several possible trade packages with Baltimore. Now it’s simply a matter of striking an arrangement that works for everyone.
