Announcement: Hendrick Motorsports announce Chase Elliott has signed deal with new sponsors replacing Hooters

Chase Elliott has a sponsor for Sunday’s Cook Out 400 at Richmond Raceway. On Tuesday, Hendrick Motorsports announced that Coca-Cola will be the major sponsor of Elliott’s No. 9 Chevrolet.

Elliott’s principal sponsorship for Richmond was originally labeled “TBA.”

Sunday’s race was intended to be Hooters’ third and last race of principal sponsorship, but Hendrick Motorsports terminated its contract with the chicken wing business last month.

“Hooters has been a valued partner of Hendrick Motorsports since 2017, helping to our mutual success on and off the track. Hendrick stated that Hooters has been unable to fulfill its duties to the group in recent months. “Due to these regrettable and unanticipated circumstances, and despite considerable attempts on both sides to find a reasonable solution, Hendrick Motorsports found it essential to terminate the agreement. It has been a pleasure having Hooters on our team, and we wish them the best.”

Chase Elliott finds sponsorship in Coca-Cola

Coca-Cola fills Hooters’ gap on a one-race contract. Elliott and the No. 9 team have partnered with the legendary soft drink company for the 2023 NASCAR Cup Series season. Elliott, formerly associated with PepsiCo’s Mountain Dew brand, has joined the Coca-Cola Racing Family for the past two seasons, according to Toby Christie.

Elliott hopes to deliver the red and white Coca-Cola Chevrolet to victory lane in Richmond, the first race after the two-week Olympic break. With only four regular season races left, the 2020 Cup Series champion sits 10 points behind Hendrick teammate Kyle Larson in the points standings.

“There’s a lot more racing to go. That’s how I look at it. Elliott noted that a lot can happen in that time frame.”I believe it will push all of us to be really good. You’re going to have to be extremely solid, and you’re probably going to have to win a race or two between now and the end of it to have a true shot at beating the other guys. I don’t see four or five players having problems between now and then, or at least not all of them.”
