Nascar to pay $100m to Eldora for Chase Elliott committing accident at Eldora speedway

Chase Elliott displays outrage following NASCAR’s penalty at Indianapolis.

Chase Elliott had one of the best cars in Stage 1 of the 2024 Brickyard 400 at Indianapolis Motor Speedway, but his track position was badly hampered by a penalty. Elliott exited pit road in a wide arc, entering Turn 2 and the racing surface. According to NASCAR rules, the Hendrick Motorsports driver violated the blend line and was penalized.
However, Elliott was furious on the radio and expressed his displeasure with NASCAR. The driver of the No. 9 vehicle did not hold back and conveyed his displeasure at the punishment.

“That’s not correct. “I did exactly what the [expletive] sheet said to do,” Elliott explained. “Well, what the [expletive]?! [expletive] Follow their instructions exactly. “They did not say line, they said racing surface, so tell me how the [expletive] I was on the racing surface.” “Those pieces of [expletive] are sitting up there, not doing anything.”

Elliott obviously entered the racing surface when he crossed the two white lines, but NASCAR could have better clarified the law to the drivers and teams. The Hendrick Motorsports driver recovered to finish in 10th place, following the same strategy as race winner Kyle Larson. However, Elliott will be left wondering what may have occurred if he hadn’t been called for.
