A man was discovered dead and another injured during a gunshot in Northeast Kansas City on Saturday afternoon. Around 4:15 p.m., police responded to the 300 block of Maple Boulevard in Pendleton Heights. reporting bullets fired into a car that departed the scene. A few minutes later, another report came in concerning a shooting near Smart and Bales avenues, where they discovered two male shooting victims, according to Capt. Jake Becchina, a KCPD spokeswoman. One person was located in the car and pronounced deceased at the spot.

The other was outdoors and was last reported in stable condition at the hospital. According to the announcement, detectives scoured both locations for witnesses and processed evidence.
