Saints acquire RB Kene Nwangwu.
Kene Nwangwui, a running back, is moving to New Orleans.
The Saints grabbed the former Vikings tailback and kickoff returner, a day after they discarded him.
Nwagnu was named a second-team All-Pro in 2022. He has three career kickoff returns that resulted in scores.
The transfer reunites Nwangwu and Klint Kubiak. The Saints’ offensive coordinator took on that post in Minnesota in 2021, Nwangwu’s rookie season. That year, Nwangwu averaged 5.5 yards per run, albeit in limited action.
With the arrival of Nwangwu, the Saints will need to open a roster slot. Jordan Mims, the team’s current No. 4 tailback, might be the one who gets the short straw.
