NHRA drag racing and Eldora community mourn with john force and family for such a big lose

John Force was moved to the neuro intensive care unit as his family was released. Sad Message for Fans
The racing community is suffering after a recent high-speed collision involving famed drag racer John Force. John Force was involved in a horrific accident during the first round of eliminations at the Virginia Nationals at Virginia Motorsport Park. While crossing the finish line in his Chevy Camaro Funny Car at almost 300 mph, the engine unexpectedly burst, leading Force to lose control. The vehicle swerved across the centerline, slamming with both guard barriers before coming to a halt.

Force stayed aware after the incident and was able to contact with the National Hot Rod Association’s (NHRA) medical staff.

He was then evacuated to a local hospital, where he was initially admitted to the trauma critical care unit but then transferred to the neuro intensive care unit for specialist treatment for brain injuries, as verified by his team.

“Four days after his crash at more than 300 miles per hour, drag racing champion John Force has moved from the trauma intensive care unit to the neuro intensive care unit, where the medical team can focus on his head injury which is their primary concern,” according to an update.

“The relocation was a pleasant relief for his family members, who had been seeing him at the hospital every day this week.

“With the unanimous support of her family, team, and sponsors, Brittany Force will not race this week at the Summit Racing Equipment Nationals in Norwalk, Ohio, where she would have driven the Cornwell Tools Chevrolet Top Fuel dragster. Instead, she will remain in the hospital with her family in support of her father.

“Austin Prock will compete with the same brave, battling attitude that John has embodied and taught in his teams over the years, and his AAA Chevrolet Camaro SS squad will proudly carry the torch for the whole John Force Racing company and sponsors this weekend.

“The Force family is grateful to the medical experts who are caring for John, as well as the tremendous amount of genuine prayers, support, and concerns. Thank you for continuing to respect the privacy of the family and the John Force Racing crew.”

The Force family, which has been based in the hospital since the event, has demonstrated tremendous togetherness. Brittany Force, John’s daughter, has decided to forgo the next Summit Racing Equipment Nationals in Norwalk, Ohio, to be at her father’s side. She has unflinching trust in her father’s perseverance, stating:

“My dad is going to be OK; I was in the ambulance with him, holding his hand. He’s one of the hardest individuals I know, so he’ll bounce back like he usually does.

It’s not an easy task. We understand that it is part of the sport. That is how this sport goes. I wouldn’t be his daughter if I wasn’t back here in that car, working with this team to win this thing for him.”
Reflecting on Force’s health and spirit, teammate Austin Prock, who won the event following the incident, said:

“He is one tough son of a bitch. It’s difficult to see someone go through that, especially when it’s someone you care about, but I’m confident he’ll return. We’re racecar drivers, and we need to turn the switch. I know John wanted us out here, making rounds, and I’m delighted we did our duty.”
