Announcement: Cincinnati Bengals Elite Ja’Marr Chase agree to sign a mega contract today

Cincinnati Bengals Elite Ja’Marr Chase expected to play in Week 1 matchup despite contentious contract negotiations.
Cincinnati appears to be in terrific condition if their star playmaker is a go on Sunday.

Over the last few weeks, the Cincinnati Bengals have been embroiled in one of the most bizarre contract negotiations in sports. Several days ago, superstar wide receiver Ja’Marr Chase chose to hold out in contract discussions since the organization appeared unable to meet his demand of a $40 million average yearly value.
Furthermore, Chase has messed things up by training on other days, sending a confusing message to supporters.

The major issue is whether Chase will play in Week 1 against the New England Patriots.
Cincinnati Bengals quarterback weighs in on the Chase debate.
To summarize, Chase is anticipated to play in the opening regular-season game, according to NFL Insider Ian Rapoport’s report. Rapoport moved to Twitter on Thursday afternoon to declare that he had spoken with Cincinnati’s great quarterback, Joe Burrow, and that the former LSU star is confident that his old colleague will resolve his issue before Sunday.

Rapoport also stated that Cincinnati had made a’significant offer’ to Chase for a contract extension, but there had been no confirmation as of this evening. Based on Chase’s expectations, Cincinnati most likely gave him a four-year contract totaling $142 million, or $35.5 million per year. According to reports last week, Chase sought to break the previous record of $35.5 million a year with a contract worth $40 million. That contract would be ridiculous since it would compare Chase to a mid-level starting quarterback in the NFL.

It’s tough to say exactly what the discussion is about because the contract will very certainly be a four-year agreement worth $144 million (averaging $36 million each year). That would be consistent with the prior several seasons’ trend of astonishing contract record hikes. $40 million per year would break the record by more than 10% and be entirely unmatched at the NFL level.

Chase is expected to play this year, which should be terrific news for the organization. Burrow is a fantastic quarterback, but his level of play improves when he is accompanied by a collegiate colleague.

If Chase is available against a poor Patriots defense, expect him to have a monster start to the season and get this club moving quickly right away.
