5-Star Wide Receiver, Jalen Scott, Flips Commitment from TCU Horned Frogs to Oklahoma Sooners
Fort Worth, TX – In a shocking turn of events, highly-touted 5-star wide receiver Jalen Scott has flipped his commitment from the TCU Horned Frogs to their Big 12 rivals, the Oklahoma Sooners.
Scott, considered one of the top recruits in the 2024 class, initially committed to TCU in June. However, after an official visit to Norman last weekend, he decided to switch his allegiance to the Sooners.
“I’m thrilled to join the Sooner family,” Scott said. “The atmosphere, coaching staff, and tradition of excellence sold me. I’m excited to contribute to Oklahoma’s success.”
The 6’2″, 190-pound receiver from DeSoto, Texas, is ranked as the No. 2 wide receiver in the 2024 class, according to ESPN. His commitment is a significant boost to Oklahoma’s recruiting class.
TCU Head Coach Sonny Dykes expressed disappointment but wished Scott well.
“We’re grateful for Jalen’s initial commitment, and we understand the recruiting process,” Dykes said. “We’ll continue to build our team with talented players who share our vision.”
Oklahoma Head Coach Brent Venables welcomed Scott to the Sooners.
“Jalen’s exceptional talent and character make him an ideal fit for our program,” Venables said. “We’re excited to develop him into a top-notch receiver.”
