Tragic Yellowstone incident: Runner Killed by Grizzly Bear in Yellowstone National Park…

The tragic loss of Amie Adamson, 48, is the park’s most recent deadly bear assault.

Amy Adamson, a 48-year-old ultramarathon runner, died after a bear assault in Yellowstone National Park on Saturday. Officials suspect she was walking or running along the Buttermilk Trail near the Montana-Idaho border at the time of the fatal attack.

Adamson’s body was discovered by a hiker at 8 a.m. on Saturday, and coroners swiftly confirmed that she died as a result of serious blood loss caused by mauling. Wildlife officials discovered the traces of a grizzly bear and at least one cub near the body.

Officials are currently searching for the bear. Despite setting out bear traps every night since Adamson’s death was discovered, they have unable to catch the animal. Authorities highlighted that the longer the period between the mauling and the capture, the less probable it is that they would catch the bear guilty for Adamson’s death.

Yellowstone has a history of tragic bear encounters. Since 2010, grizzlies in Yellowstone and surrounding areas have killed at least nine people.

According to Adamson’s relatives, Amie enjoyed being outside. “She lived for experiences,” Amie’s mother, Janet Adamson, explained.

The English teacher turned cross-country hiker and author was wearing running shoes when the attack occurred. “This person was probably out for a morning jog along the trail when this happened,” said Morgan Jacobsen from Montana Fish, Wildlife, and Parks.

Adamson has completed three 50K races since 2016, including the Dead Horse Ultra in Utah last year, as reported by UltraRunning Magazine.

Park officials advised that all guests take bear spray. They also stressed the significance of keeping food outside your tent and properly disposing of all rubbish.
