Report: Iowa cut ties with their talented star

REPORT: Five-Star OL Kadyn Proctor Will Return To Alabama Through Transfer Portal After Transferring To Iowa

The NCAA transfer webpage once again demonstrated its volatility on Tuesday.

Former five-star Alabama offensive lineman Kadyn Proctor departed the Crimson Tide two months ago to play for his hometown Iowa Hawkeyes.
Two months later, Proctor appears to have had a change of heart.
Proctor re-entered the portal, according to On3’s Scott Dochterman.

David Eickholt of 247Sports added to the news, reporting Proctor has decided to return to Tuscaloosa and complete his career with the Crimson Tide.

Kadyn Proctor, a 6-foot-8, 365-pound lineman, caused chaos with his first entry into the transfer portal.

He made contact with Iowa coaches in the middle of Alabama’s season.

That opened the Hawkeyes susceptible to potential NCAA penalties.

“No bridges were burned [at Iowa.],” Proctor stated in an interview shortly after announcing his initial transfer. “That’s why it was so easy for me to choose them when I went through the transfer portal: we still have those relationships. Even when I was suffering in the SEC, they called and said, ‘We’re proud of you; you’re going to make it through.’ And that’s what finally influenced my decision.”

Did the interview influence his choice to return?

Nobody appears to know for certain.

However, it is a significant victory for the Crimson Tide and new coach Kalen DeBoer. In 2023, Proctor will return to the same spot where he started all 14 games.
