Three-star wideout signed by Alabama football will boost the class of 2025 recruits.
During Saturday’s spring game, new Alabama football head coach Kalen DeBoer got his first opportunity to show Crimson Tide supporters what the 2024 squad would look like on the field. Although it’s still difficult to predict how DeBoer will do in the real season, it’s encouraging that his 2025 recruiting class is looking well thus far. Three-star wide receiver Lotzeir Brooks, who is destined for Tuscaloosa, is the ninth commit Alabama has made in this class.
Hayes Fawcett tweeted, “BREAKING: Class of 2025 WR Lotzeir Brooks has Committed to Alabama, he tells me for @on3recruits.” “Millville, NJ’s 5’10 180 WR selected the Crimson Tide over Tennessee and Kentucky.”
To play for Kalen DeBoer and the Alabama football team is Lotzeir Brooks. The three-star prospect is the #63 wide receiver in the class of 2025, the #14 player in New Jersey, and is ranked #437 overall by 247 Sports. At Millville, New Jersey, Brooks is a student at Millville High School right now.
“After this one, the world will wake up,” Brooks said.
This is a significant win for Alabama and Kalen DeBoer. There was definitely some worry that recruitment would suffer when DeBoer took over as the Crimson Tide’s head coach after Nick Saban left. There are undoubtedly some unanswered questions following the passing of one of the greatest football coaches in history. But as of right now, DeBoer’s 2025 class appears to be strong.
Nine players have committed to the Crimson Tide for their 2025 recruiting class, which is ranked eighth in the country. Even though the cycle is very early, it is imperative to get off to a strong start, particularly with a new coach. That will be seen by other recruits, making it a more desirable location.
Alabama currently has five four-star pledges and four three-star commits. However, such rankings are subject to change, and they now have a four-star rating on the verge of becoming five-star.
The Crimson Tide’s four-star recruits include Darrell Johnson (LB, #48 in the 2025 class), Derick Smith (WR, #69), Anthony Rogers (RB, #91), Antonio Coleman (DL, #97), and Myles Johnson (ATH, #212). Their three-star prospects are Zymear Smith (ATH, #273), Abduall Sanders Jr. (LB, #260), Lotzeir Brooks (WR, #437), and Luke Metz (LB, #421).
Alabama’s 2024 season will be significant, and everyone is looking forward to it. It will be strange to have a new head coach on the sidelines for the Crimson Tide, but Kalen DeBoer is undoubtedly capable of doing the job. Still, year one will be important, and DeBoer does not want to squander any of the momentum that Saban has established. Following in the footsteps of greatness is a difficult assignment, and he is clearly under a lot of strain.
