JUST IN: Former football player for the Alabama Crimson Tide QB explosions Football for the Florida State Seminoles QB

Along with Trent Richardson and ‘Bama play-by-play commentator Chris Stewart, former Alabama quarterback AJ McCarron had some harsh things to say about Florida State quarterback Tommy Castellanos on his podcast, The Dynasty.

McCarron’s criticisms came in response to Castellanos’ comments made to On3’s Pete Nakos regarding the Crimson Tide ahead of the Seminoles’ Aug. 30 matchup in Tallahassee.

In his rebuttal to Castellanos, McCarron went so far as to label the remarks made by the FSU field general as “stupidity”:

“Where even do you begin? You’re visiting a team that finished 17th out of 17 ACC teams. You’re leaving a team where you finished eighth in the ACC and lost your starting position. Listen, this is foolishness, but I’m all for confidence. Simply inquire as to whether he is still seeing someone, though I doubt it given that he fired him from his first position, but Bill O’Brien. Ask Bill how things are in Alabama when you call him. OB tells you, “Hey, Thomas, you might want to stay quiet on this one,” and describes the players they have and how they play the game. Simply go play outside.

The former quarterback for Alabama went on to say that he would not want to be in charge of FSU’s huddle when the season started.

“Brother, you just made things worse. I would not want to be you at the opening game of the year, I assure you. How well you can run or throw it doesn’t matter to me. “You’d better find it quickly this offseason and during that game, because it ain’t gonna be good once you stand in that pocket and get hit a couple times, that accuracy that dipped, that cost you the starting job,” McCarron warned.

The Seminoles and the Crimson Tide will square off in Tallahassee on Aug. 30 at 3:30 p.m. ET.
