LeSean McCoy, the legendary Philadelphia Eagles player, will be collaborating with two of his former teammates who are now HBCU coaches. The 2025 MEAC Football Media Day will feature the two-time All-Pro rushing back as a special guest host. The NFL’s Ravens’ home field, M&T Bank Stadium in Baltimore, will host the event on July 22.

There is a significant shift this year. The MEAC has hosted its media day in Norfolk, Virginia, for many years. In keeping with the NFL’s dedication to promoting its HBCU programs, the event is now held at an NFL stadium.
Philadelphia Eagles Trio Re-unites
There is more to LeSean McCoy’s appearance than merely a celebrity endorsement. Two new MEAC head coaches, Michael Vick and DeSean Jackson, were teammates of his. Jackson is now the head coach of Delaware State, and Vick is now the head coach of Norfolk State. Jackson and McCoy co-hosted the podcast 25/10, and all three were Philadelphia Eagles teammates. The MEAC’s developing association with professional football is highlighted by their common NFL experience, which gives the conference national prominence.
HBCU Conference Steps into the Limelight
Six HBCUs that play football are part of the MEAC. Generations of NFL players, civic leaders, and cultural icons have come from its programs. The relocation to Baltimore was hailed by Commissioner Sonja Stills as “a historic milestone” that demonstrates the MEAC’s “growing visibility, strength, and momentum.”
NFL executives are in favor of the action as well. “The NFL’s longstanding relationship with HBCUs is being continued by bringing MEAC Football Media Day to M&T Bank Stadium,” said Troy Vincent, Executive Vice President of Football Operations for the NFL.
A Showcase for the Season Ahead
The event will be broadcast live on ESPN+ by seasoned ESPN hosts Tiffany Greene and Jay Walker. All six of the MEAC football teams’ coaches and players will be there. As the MEAC/SWAC Challenge begins on August 23, they will discuss their thoughts and expectations for the forthcoming season. An occasion that is already rich in history and promise gains star power with LeSean McCoy’s participation. This year’s media day provides something unique for both Philadelphia Eagles and HBCU football fans: a celebration of historical greatness and an early look at what lies ahead.
