Hull City’s position on signing Sheffield Wednesday’s rebel contract is described.
Josh Windass, an attacker for Sheffield Wednesday, is not wanted by Hull City, according to a report from HullLive.
Hull City and Coventry City, another Championship team, have been linked to a summertime raid for the forward. They are gearing up for their inaugural campaign under new manager Tim Walter, who was appointed following the unexpected dismissal of Liam Rosenior.
Windass, 30, has rejected Sheffield Wednesday’s last contract offer, according to Football Insider, and will now leave Hillsborough as a free agent. His contract in South Yorkshire officially expires at the end of the month, and he will be considering his alternatives.
According to HullLive, the Tigers are not attempting to lure him to East Yorkshire and have other more ambitious targets in mind. Last season, they finished seventh in the table, three points shy of the playoffs.
The position of Hull City about Sheffield Wednesday attacker Windass is that Hull City is typically linked to Windass during transfer windows. In the 2008 play-off final at Wembley against Bristol City, his father Dean produced one of the most iconic goals in Tigers history.
Danny Rohl, the manager of Sheffield Wednesday, signed a new deal this summer, but he could need to start looking for potential successors.
Since joining the Owls in 2020, Windass has scored 37 goals in 126 games in all competitions; seven of those goals came last season to assist the team maintain their second-tier status.
