Kristijan Trapanovski to Dundee United transfer timeline laid out by Jim Goodwin
Goodwin expects Trapanovski to be in Scotland this week – but not fellow new signing Ryan Strain
Jim Goodwin has revealed that Kristijan Trapanovski will become Dundee United’s fifth summer signing.
It has been widely reported that the Macedonian winger, who is a free agent after leaving FK Shkupi in his homeland, has signed to a two-year contract with a club-led option for a third season.
Olgun Aydin, president of Shkupi, revealed to Courier Sport earlier this month that Dundee United had acquired a top player. He is an exceptional talent in terms of both skill and character.”
United have been forced to be patient while Trapanovski awaits his visa for the move to Scotland.
However, he is scheduled to arrive in the coming days, and having previously undergone a medical in his home country, Goodwin hopes to make his non-competitive debut against Annan Athletic on Saturday.
The interaction will take place behind closed doors.
Goodwin confirmed the signing: “We hope to have Trapanovski in Dundee in the early part of the week and hopefully he will play in our friendly next weekend.”
Goodwin determined to ensure Ryan doesn’t feel the Strain
However, Ryan Strain, a fresh arrival, will not participate in the bounce game.
The Australian wing-back reported for international duty following St Mirren’s season, and played the entire 90 minutes of a 2-0 victory over Bangladesh in Dhaka on June 6.
He then traveled to Perth, Australia, to serve as an unused substitute versus Palestine on June 11th.
As a result, the player has been granted an extended break before reporting for pre-season. He is likely to join the squad at their training camp in Cheshire next week.
“Ryan won’t come in with the group for another week to 10 days due to the fact he’s been on international duty since the end of the season,” Goodwin told DUTV.
“We need to make sure we give him enough time to recover before he comes back in and does his pre-season.”
As well as Strain and the impending arrival of Trapanovski, United have also added Will Ferry, Dave Richards and Vicko Sevelj to their ranks.
