Southampton are set to sign Burnley defender Charlie Taylor on a free transfer, according to the Daily Mirror.
Taylor’s contract at Turf Moor expires at the end of this month, and Burnley has offered him a new deal to stay.
The left-back, however, has had other offers and was enticed by a proposition from Premier League newcomers Southampton.
Taylor has been handed a two-year contract by Saints, who are aiming to strengthen ahead of their return to the top flight.
The left-back is expected to sign it and join the south coast club on a free transfer when his Burnley contract expires.
Taylor, 30, made 28 Premier League appearances for Burnley last season.
He made nine bookings while Burnley was demoted from the Premier League.
Taylor, on the other hand, will remain in the Premier League with Southampton, where he will try to impress Russell Martin during preseason in order to secure a spot in the Saints’ starting lineup against Newcastle United.
