BREAKING NEWS: The star wide receiver for the Philadelphia Eagles makes an NFL scout swoon.

The Philadelphia Eagles’ explosive receivers were occasionally overlooked last season because their offense was centered around the run game. One scout had a lot of positive things to say about one of the defending champions’ major skill players as they prepare for training camp.

The Eagles acquired wide receiver A.J. Brown in 2022 through a deal with the Tennessee Titans. He started his career with impressive results, but after moving to Philadelphia, he hit a whole other level. The former second-round pick has become one of the best players at his position while playing with a top-tier quarterback in Jalen Hurts.

Prior to the 2025 season, ESPN conducted a survey among league executives, coaches, and scouts to determine the top 10 receivers. This ranking included Brown, who came in at number 5. Tyreek Hill and CeeDee Lamb are the players directly in front of him.

One scout gushed about the Eagles’ star player continuing to pose a threat to opposition defenses as the team enters its seventh season.

“He’s still awesome,” one AFC scout with experience stated. “He’s still quite powerful and quick enough to come through when you need him. A nightmare to deal with. Perhaps a little slower than he was, but only by a tiny bit.

An additional talent evaluator shared their opinions on how Brown’s physical characteristics made him such an important member of the Philadelphia team.

“Dealing with his physicality and strength is a problem [for cornerbacks],” stated a personnel investigator for the NFL. “At the end of the day, sometimes, it’s really that simple.”

Despite having a “down” season for the Eagles the previous season, Brown finished in the top five. Philadelphia’s approach to the passing game was influenced by Saquon Barkley’s spectacular regular season, but the veteran still left his mark. He recorded 1,079 yards and seven touchdowns in 13 starts. He had three consecutive seasons with the Eagles with 1,000 yards or more. Since being traded, he has also scored at least seven touchdowns year.

Teams are now ready for the Eagles’ new offensive scheme, which may lead to Jalen Hurts throwing the ball out more frequently each week. This will also be an opportunity for Brown and DeVonta Smith to remind everyone of their importance to the NFC contender.
