Announcement: Sabres Agree Deal To Sign Top Remaining Free Agent Adding More Depth At Right Wing
The Buffalo Sabres consider adding to their front group. It is no secret that they require more scoring, and one fascinating option remains in free agency: Daniel Sprong.
Sprong, who had a strong season with the Detroit Red Wings in 2023-24, is yet to sign another deal. This should change soon, as the 27-year-old winger scored 18 goals and 43 points in 76 games with the Red Wings last season. In addition, he scored 21 goals and 46 points in 66 games for the Seattle Kraken in 2022–23.
Sprong’s stats suggest that he can produce well even in a bottom-six situation. With the Sabres in need of more secondary scoring, bringing in a talent like Sprong may be intriguing.
Looking at the Sabres’ lineup, Sprong may be an excellent fit on the third line. In addition, because to his great attacking skills, he would be assigned to their second power-play unit.
Finally, the Sabres would benefit from acquiring depth at right wing. If they signed Sprong, they would gain additional scoring and skill in their bottom six, which would be beneficial. Let’s see whether they push for him from here.
