Heartbreaking update published on the status of drag racing great John Force, 75, after his vehicle EXPLODED following a 300-mph collision in Virginia.
Drag-racing star John Force has been relocated to a new intensive care unit after his vehicle caught fire at the finish of a race in Virginia last weekend.
Following a 300 mph incident at Virginia Motorsports Park on Sunday, Force was transported to the hospital after his vehicle caught fire and he collided with a wall in horrifying images.
The 75-year-old achieved a 306.62mph triumph against Terry Haddock in the right lane before his PEAK Chevy Camaro engine burst during the high-speed lap.
Following the terrifying occurrence, Force, a 157-time NHRA champion, left the car and remained aware while speaking with Safety Safari staff before being led into an ambulance and transferred to a Richmond-area hospital for examination.
John Force Racing stated in a statement Monday night that he was remained in a Virginia hospital and that physicians ‘were working slowly in analyzing the extent of the injuries due of the ferocity of the crash.’
A few days later, it was discovered that Force had been transferred from Richmond’s trauma critical care unit to the neuro intensive care unit, where treating his brain damage is claimed to be the ‘main priority’.
According to his team’s statement, ‘The shift [to a neuro ICU] was a welcome positive for his family members, who have maintained a daily presence at the hospital all week.’
It went on to say, “The Force family is grateful for the team of medical professionals who are caring for John, and for the overwhelming number of heartfelt messages of prayer, support, and concern.” Thank you for continuing to protect the privacy of the family and John Force Racing team members.
