Cincinnati Reds games were apparently the hottest thing on screens in 2025—right behind cat videos and true crime documentaries. According to FanDuel Sports Network, viewership jumped 21% from last season, proving that nothing brings fans together like a whiff of postseason hope.
Reds president Phil Castellini called it a “significant increase,” crediting everyone from die-hard fans to those who just left the TV on by accident. “Expanded streaming options” were also mentioned, which is corporate-speak for “we’re finally easier to find online.”
The Reds finished 83–79, made it back to the playoffs for the first time since 2020, and were swiftly reminded by the Dodgers that Los Angeles still runs October. The next goal? Win a playoff series—something they haven’t done since 1995. At this rate, maybe the viewership spike was fans watching out of pure disbelief.
