JUST IN: New York Jets player under most pressure entering 2025 NFL season.

When the 2025 NFL season begins, the New York Jets have several unanswered questions. Both the general manager and the head coach of New York have changed. On both sides of the football field, the team also includes a number of new players.

For almost twenty years, Jets supporters have had to endure futility. Many Jets fans have become disinterested as the team hasn’t qualified for the playoffs since the 2010 season. However, there are many others who are fervent, irate, and eager for their side to succeed.

One player in particular needs to have a fantastic season for the green and white in order to do that. For this club, Justin Fields, the quarterback, is effectively the new starting quarterback.

As the 2025 season approaches, Fields is facing the greatest pressure on the squad for the following reasons.

Justin Fields has a lot to prove after not winning the Steelers starting job.

Fields played for the Pittsburgh Steelers the previous season. Despite winning a few games with Pittsburgh, Fields was unable to secure the team’s starting position. Fields was reduced to a reserve position while Russell Wilson was healthy.

Fields barely played in the team’s playoff matchup with Baltimore. Throughout the entire game, he only recorded one incomplete pass attempt. Baltimore proceeded to roast Pittsburgh.

This past offseason, Fields was determined to join a team where he had a good chance of starting because of that progress. He got what he wanted, then. He is currently in charge of a squad that hasn’t qualified for the playoffs in almost ten years. What is pressure if that isn’t it?

There are a few other reasons why Fields faces the most pressure on this team.

The Jets are not a franchise known to have patience.

New York has a reputation for discarding coaches and quarterbacks like Kleenex tissues. Since the Jets’ previous postseason appearance fifteen years ago, they have had a number of starting quarterbacks. Mark Sanchez, Sam Darnold, Ryan Fitzpatrick, Geno Smith, and most recently, Aaron Rodgers, are a few of those starters.
