She’s now set to face teenage rising star and Eastbourne finalist Alexandra Eala in the opening round at Wimbledon. “I hope by Tuesday everything’s going to be fine,” Krejcikova said, acknowledging her recent injury troubles.The 29-year-old has struggled with fitness in recent months. A back injury kept her off the court from November to May, and now a thigh problem has disrupted her Eastbourne campaign. Despite limited preparation, she remains positive.

 

“I had to take a few days off without hitting, but I stayed active with some off-court training,” she explained. “I’m feeling a bit better each day, and I’m happy about that.”

Although she returns to Wimbledon underprepared, Krejcikova’s mindset hasn’t changed. “I’m enjoying the moment and I’m happy to be back. It’s tough and complex, but not difficult. I’m really looking forward to Tuesday’s match. Krejcikova has fond memories of her victory at Wimbledon last year, where she defeated Jasmine Paolini in the final. Now, she’s hoping to replicate that success despite the challenges she’s faced.
