Although the defensive backfield of the Dallas Cowboys is quite talented, there are a number of concerns over the team’s overall health.

The Dallas Cowboys, who are trying to rebuild their roster following a dismal 2024 season, have many unanswered questions going into the 2025–26 NFL season.
With guys like Trevon Diggs and Shavon Revel recovering from season-ending knee injuries a year ago, the secondary’s health is one of the team’s major problems.
Cornerback was a major topic of conversation as the DallasCowboys.com team examined some of the most urgent requirements prior to the start of training camp.
Nick Eatman focused on the secondary and outlined some of the biggest concerns.
“I think there are a few options for this question, but based off the injury situation and the unknown with some other players, I would see the most pressing need is to figure out cornerback,” he states. “Now, if everything goes according to plan, this position will be fine, and defensive tackle will probably be the solution. However, I believe that Eberflus and his team will be able to fix it in the middle of the line.
“At the moment, I’m not sure what to anticipate at cornerback. The number of question marks is enormous. When will Trevon Diggs return, if at all? What is Shavon Revel’s current situation? Will he miss any PUP games or be able to return to begin the season? Then there’s DaRon Bland and Kaiir Elam. To at least maintain the position, both of them must perform at their highest level. And then there’s the question of who fills the slot corner. The Cowboys need to finish it, but I believe they have the components to make it work. And that seems like an urgent requirement to me because of the uncertainty.”
